I am about to purchase rams for my notebooks online. So, i would like to get the correct ram. (bcoz no return)
Can someone confirm ram for my thinkpad X61s and lenovo V100
    V100:
    PC25300 and how many pin?
    555 or 667?

    X61s:
    PC25300 and how many pin?
    667 right?

my X61s comes with 1x GM ram. I am trying to get 1 x 2GB ram. Thus, 3 GB total
I assume I have to get 667 right?

I think you are a bit confused about RAM...but its really not your fault, the terminology is really quite confusing.

PC2-5300 refers to the memory SPEED only
DDR-667 also refers to the SPEED only

In fact, PC2-5300 and DDR-667 refer to the same speed!

Pins: new notebooks always use 200-pin memory. This is also known as "SODIMM" (whereas desktop memory is known as "DIMM").

For both your V100 and X61s you want memory that is:
    PC2-5300 / DDR-667 / 200-pin

IMO 2GB total is perfect for the X61s and Vista unless you have special requirements (photoshop etc).

Here is a decent deal for what you need:
