Does anyone else have this? Typically when I come back out of the screen saver I will hear the disconnect noise, or sometimes when it's just idle. All I really use for usb is an old microsoft laser mouse, and I think its drivers are up to date.

What machine is this on? If you have an UltraBay, you may have the setting enabled that disables the UltraBay if unused for a period of time. This triggers the Windows "unplug" sound.

    Hi Capt,

did you ever get to the bottom of this issue? i have the same problem with the "always on" usb port, which seems to cut out randomly?

    Hi hiamp,

can't say much because I don't really have the issue anymore. It probably went away around the time I switched my HD to a SSD, in other words reformatted, so it may be a software issue from factory installed systems.
