    Ok, first off, this is not a rant about the actual warranty repair work, since I haven't actually been able to GET that far.

    First off, I paid the money for the 3 year on-site accidental warranty. I have actually used it before (more on that little incident later).

    So, today I decided to call in and finally get my screen replaced (WXGA+ LED with a group of dead pixels and then really colorful lines of pixels whenever any pressure is put on the screen). I go to the website, sign in, and start filling out the little form.

    First issue: The form does not let me put in my City's full name. It only takes the first word. I live in Granada Hills, yet it only lets me put in Granada. But I can live with this error, since the last time I had to make a service call, the same thing happened.

    Second, and the big issue: No matter what, I cannot submit the stupid form. And every time it fails to submit, it wipes out the forms values. Which is a pain. I tried about 5 times to submit the form.

    I can't really say much more since I HAVEN'T GOTTEN THAT FAR.

    /end rant

    Oh, and as to my previous warranty repair, well that was for the SAME EXACT ISSUE. Literally. They were supposed to replace the friggin screen, but when the tech came to replace it, he didn't have any LED ones. And neither did the depot. And there was no ETA on when they would be in.

    //true end of rant.

    Ok, that felt really good to type.

    Note: The tech that came was actually really knowledgeable.

    sorry to hear about your experience
    can you simply call the Lenovo and arrange the repair visit? maybe insist that they should bring a screen.....

    Ya, id call rather than go the web portal route. But i agree the electronic form/paper trail system for lenovo/ibm is pretty bad.

    Whenever I fill out those lenovo support surveys I always mention their forms, email updates, and status updates on the website.

    Yeah, I did that last time.

    Oh, and when the tech came to replace the screen, he did bring some. They were just CCFL's. Or 1280x800.

    Ok, anyone have their warrenty phone number written down? For some reason IBM's webpage keeps timing out for me.

    Apparently, Lenovo warranty call center aka IBM service, can't tell you the ETA on parts order, some sort of internal policy of their's. But usually it is 5 to 10 days, but it can get to 2 months like what happened to my T61 with the hinge and motherboard replacement.
