I can not find the right price. In December I managed to put together a T61p with:
    2.2 GHZ T7500
    256 MB nvidia video card
    100GB 72k HD
    15.4 Wxsga+
all other items standard for 1188.85.

This same laptop config goes for over 1500 as of now! Being that I seen the low price they are willing to sell this baby for, I refuse to buy it for anything over 1188.85.

Questions, what are lenovos sale cycles? What are the chances that the old price of 1188.85 will pop up again soon (within three months)? Can you call and haggle a price? When are the T62p expected?

    TIA,

    loving my pad!

Well I paid $1,550 for my t61p at the end of October. Specs below.

This included California tax and 3 year depot warranty. I thought that was a great price.

Wow, that's a good deal, how did you get it so cheap? I can't even configure one that cheap using EPP

You're between sales/coupons right now, I'd wait and see. How are you able to see future prices of the Thinkpads, and what leads you to believe the prices are going to rise? If anything, they have fallen. I bought mine opening day and paid much more, though my specs are a bit different as well.
I just checked and my config is about $400 than what I paid.

Please excuse my lack of clarity... I was saying with the price i saw in december @ 1188.85.... and the fact that the earlier poster got his with a dvd burner and 3 year warranty and a few extras.... for what he did..... there is no way I will pay any more than the 1188.85 for that config... hell I might as well wait for something less! Hope I have the money when those sales/coupons start popping up!

    Thanks!

I got mine through EPP and also at that time they were having a huge Christmas Sale.

$1,550 tax included with 3 year depot warranty. I'm happy. :D

I did my clean install and I'm even more happier. :)
