Planning to get a R61, I actully want the XP Pro, but why not order the Vista Bussiness and "downgrade" to XP. So the question is: Is it Lenovo's policy to send the XP Pro disk with the Vista Business order ?

This question had been asked many time, but seems answers are from people who asked and Lenovo is being "nice" to send the disk. So is anyone got the disks without asking. (that is, it is black and white that lenove has to ship them with the order)

I don't see a reason why they wouldn't, but I'd call and ask to make sure.

It seems to be hit or miss... I did NOT receive any XP discs w/ my x64 Vista Business T61P (received March 08). I sent the system back because of a stuck pixel and will be receiving another one soon. When I asked Lenovo CS if I could get the XP discs with my replacement, I was told that it would be ~$45 extra and I would have to go through tech support.

Last week when I ordered a R61 I asked the same question and was told they don't send XP. I was told that after I bought it I could order XP for $45.

Then is that a 64-bit issue? So far I have seen the posts where folks bought Vista in x64 and received no Pro XP discs.
