I ordered an ideapad y470 from Lenovo on December 30th, and at that time the expected shipment date was the 3rd of January. That date came and went, so I checked the online tracking. The tracking had no expected shipping date so emailed customer service, and they emailed me back with May 11th. I called to cancel and the phone rep told me May11th was an error and it would ship that week. We’ll two weeks later still no laptop. Again I called and they assure me it’s going to ship THIS week.

What’s the most frustrating is every time I call the Rep we have a hard time understanding each other, so I can’t get any information from them other than “its going to ship this week.”

If you call to cancel the order, it will ship right away.

The second time I called was to cancel, and they told me it would ship out this week.

This a bummer too, my work laptop of choice has always been a thinkpad. After this experiance i think I'm going to have to find another favorite brand.

So it doesn't matter, but why did my post get moved? it's more about Lenovo's customer service than Ideapad.

If you like the product you should stick to it. It's the machine itself that you will use for years, not the customer service. With that said though, I know how it is. Back in the days, it took Dell a month to ship my XPS M1210 but I'm glad I stuck to it as the laptop itself has always been awesome

I ordered my y470 two weeks ago and just received it yesterday. My shipping date was being postponed due to multiple errors on their end.

I eventually called and demanded to talk to a U.S. representative, yes believe it or not they do have them. I highly suggest this as the rep will actually understand what you are saying and try to help instead of giving you a generic robotic like response to everything.

Good luck! If you stick it out you wont be disappointed.

Is this in the US? I ordered two days ago and already shipped.

I was going to get a refurb, but decided to get a new 2670qm with blu ray and the 3 year at home with accident. My desktop is three years old, so this will replace it as my primary system.
