Is there any particular reason why x200s has wxga+ while x200 doesn't?

probably a lenovo strategy to have a lower line and have a higher line so us consumers can spend more money hehe

Basically the x200 is optimized to be a relatively low cost machine while still providing a high level of performance and portability.
The x200s is built to be as light and as energy efficient as possible; cost is secondary. The x200s uses a LV or ULV processor, has a slimmer base, and uses a thinner and more energy efficient WXGA+ LED display. The top cover on the x200s is also thinner, lacks a webcam/WWAN, and is made with more expensive materials.
It is possible to get the x200s lid/display on the x200. Unfortunately, you will have to procure both an x200 and an x200s to perform the swap. -
You mean the wxga+ actually uses less power than wxga? Because it's thinner, or because of the high resolution?
And vice versa? -I think the opposite would be desirable for someone who is not comfortable with wxga+. -
It uses a bit less power by virtue of being LED backlit. The weight reduction was probably the larger engineering choice though.

Unfortunately it is not swappable, contrary to what people think. The physical size of the two hinges are different on the X200 and X200s.
Reason for x200s to have different screen resolution?
