No recovery disks. I don't understand what they are thinking.. A pack of recovery disk might only cost about $2-3 . (my is not a CTO model.

I recently owned x300 CTO which comes with 2 pack with recover disks. ( I remember I order it with VISTA, but it also came with XP )

Yeah, same with mine. When I turned my new laptop on for the first time, some message came up to make recovery disks.

you can go to Start > ThinkVantage > Create Recovery Media and burn your own in a matter of minutes.

$2~3 multiplied by millions of units sold every year equals a LOT of money spent on discs that customers may or may not want, need, and/or use.

besides, the "original" lenovo recovery discs are created using DVD-R media so the only difference between these and ones created by the end user are the printed labels.

If you ordered it with Windows Vista and chose the option at the customization screens, then it should come with Windows XP recovery disks. You still have to burn your own Vista recovery disks though.

Unless you decided not to spring for the DVD burner. I have those on all of my other PCs so I didn't bother on my T500 and wound up burning a lot of CDs and spending a lot of minutes doing it.
