I just paid for with my cc and ordered yesterday morning a W520 through the Lenovo website and am seriously thinking about cancelling, after all the issues upon issues I am reading about here and other places.

I heard/read some horror stories about cancelling with them and it takes a week or two to get credit back on your cc. They were all older threads it seemed.

Anyone with some recent experience on cancelling a similar order ?

Any input on how it went and the things I mentioned ?

I need to move fast on this and probably cancel tomorrow when they are open again for calls, or the next day at the latest, to play it safe.

    ty in advance

    :)

Your card isn't charged until it ships. It's in limbo on the card currently.

If you want to cancel you need to call them and ask them to cancel the order. Then if you don't receive a cancellation email within the hour (ignore what they say about time), call them back and do it again. Repeat till you receive a confirmation email.

While your credit card isn't charged, it is held as an authorized payment to make sure that you actually pay when the product is shipped. If you call and cancel, the authorized payment may still be on the card for a few days.

Lenovo did a good job when it canceled my x220. Called again and they said they made sure that it would be canceled. Got my authorized payment back in 2 days, letting it expire.
