When i first got my R61 with vista i decided to do a clean install of XP. At the same time I deleted the recovery partition as I never thought of switching back to vista. Well now I am as im getting tired of XP, but obviously I deleted the partition so nothing comes up when I try to recover using the blue button.

I tried to do so by clicking on "create recovery media", it said it extracted but since i dont have CD-r's i cannot complete it to see if it actually works. If it extracted, does that mean I still have the partition/ recovery media still intact?

Alos, I tried calling lenovo about getting recovery cd's but they said it would cost $45 since I deleted the partition.

So what exactly did you have to do/say to get them to finally send them to you?
