This is a friend's computer I can't physically check @ the moment (I'm overseas), so...

He has an R61 that came amazingly full of crapware. He'd like to do a clean reinstall of XP Pro. The computer didn't come with an XP Pro CD however.

Question: The Lenovo recovery media maker program, can it make an XP Pro CD that doesn't have any additional third-party apps added into it?

You can't make a standard XP disc. As far as I know, your only choices are either a custom factory install (R&R feature) or follow the guide in my signature where I provided a link to make your own disc (not from R&R).

As Arkit3kt already said, just follow his guide. I tried it out and came out with a brand new spanking laptop :D
