Is the Recovery CD = Windows XP + Preloaded programs?

In other words if you have the recovery CD, does it mean you also have the XP CD?

But it can only be used on one computer?

No. If you have "the" Windows XP CD, it's a genuine hologram CD. The rescue and recovery disks are different.

On my T40, the rescue and recovery discs were very limited - basically only a reinstall on that particular model laptop. Due to a corruption issue, I once had to dig up a real Windows disc to repair the install. The rescue discs would only reformat and reinstall, they did not have the repair capabilities of a full version of Windows.
