Recovery from media first tries to see if you have " OS recovery disc". The typical setup doesn't have it but rather has the " Product recovery disc".

Just ignore the first request (click "No") and then you will be prompted for the "Product recovery disc". This is what you have - insert it. It works. :)

    Good luck!

I've been going through this today too. I thought I was toast as well, then I actually read the dialog and noticed it was asking for OS not Product recovery disks. Doh.

I've produced a recovery set, recovered, and produced a second recovery set. I'm testing the second recovery set right now. You can never bee too careful with CD's and DVD's; they DO go bad.

Be prepared for a two hour recovery process. Takes many, many reboots too. Each one looks like the lappy is stuck in an endless cycle of reboot and do the same thing over and over again.

But in the end, you do indeed get your laptop as it was when you opened the box (at least I did).

    Patience.
