Yesterday, I proceeded to creating the recovery CDs with the recovery tool, and CD after CD, he requested a total of 13 CDs!!! Is it normal?

I don't have on my T400 a DVD burner, so I burned CDs instead.

I'd like to mention, that I made the recovery disks after a period of 2 weeks, after setting up my whole working environment on the laptop.

copy the whole OS, plus all the progs onto 700mb CDs... what do you expect?

    13 x 700mb = 9100mb = ~9Gb = ~2 DVDs

2 DVDs is normal for recovery storage.

so all in all, nothing to worry about.

I've got 9 for the factory install cds

and if you haven't made yours, I recommend you do so
it seems, with 13, you've backed up your existing config, with all the sw you installed
