I am trying to make a recovery disk, so I formatted the drive that is dedicated to it (I am running OS on a SSD so dont need the original image)

It asks me if I want to make the backup bootable which I click yes to and then it starts but gives me that error, so I think its not bootable? The backup of the drive continues though!

"An internal error has caused this process to fail"

I would like it to work because then I can just swap my SSD with a new one when I get the money and just do a recreate of this one.

You need the recovery partition to make the recovery disks, as far as I'm aware.

That makes no sense, what if my drive died, then I could never create a new recovery partition

It makes perfect sense to me. The recovery partition houses an image of the original OS, which can be used to make recovery disks or to perform recovery without recovery disks.

Uhh ya you need to make recovery discs when it is still fresh/working. If you wiped out everything, gg. You can always order them from Lenovo or order them under warranty if you were unable to create them and you need them.

well I have made a backup, just not sure what I can use it for, but guess I can install windows on a new drive, then install recovery and just do a recovery then, just takes longer
