    Hi
I just got my T520,refurbished, and overall, I'm satisfied with the system.
It had 2 battery cycles, with 5 hours of hard drive use (Is this good?).

However, there is a few things that are bugging me.

    The battery.
As soon as I inserted the battery into the compartment, I can see that the battery didn't fit in perfectly. There's some space apparently, and you can gently push on the battery and it will make a sound EVERY time. You can also move the battery just a slight bit that you can't really notice it with bare eyes, but can definitely feel it and hear it.

Also, despite all the praise about T520 being cool, I can feel some heat underneath, with minimal usage (web surfing+watching a video). I'm not saying it's hot, but it's also not cool.

I also ran CrystalDiskInfo to find out about power on hours, and right now, it says "Caution" under health status, indicating that current pending sector count is 1. If anyone knows what this means, please help me out.

I would like to know if anyone else who owns a T520 experiences similar problems as mine. I'm hoping that my luck of draw wasn't a failure; these are just the symptoms found normally among the owners of T520.

Also, if there are precautions, checks, or actions I should take for a refurbished system, please let me know.
Any tips for T520, or about enhancing the performance of the system or prolonging the life of the battery, or the system itself, will also be appreciated.

    Thanks

Every ThinkPad I've owned has had some play in the battery. You can use some paper to fix it if you must.

for the heat, check your power settings and make sure the minimum CPU speed is set to 5% and not 100%. i don't know how cool/warm the T520 runs so my help ends there.

here's what current pending sector count is: S.M.A.R.T. Attribute: Current Pending Sector Count | Knowledge Base
lenovo may replace the drive, since they have done that with me once before with a drive i personally thought was fine. otherwise it's not something to worry about too much unless the number increases a lot (or the reallocated sector count jumps a lot).

to prolong the life of the battery you can use lenovo's power manager. set the battery charging thresholds to stop charging before 100% unless you'll always need that much of a charge. something like 40-50% for starting charging and 85% for stopping would work fine and give you plenty of battery life.
