HI, Recently I bought a refurbished T60p from IBM, it comes with Hair scratch, Everything is perfect except big HDD noise, it sounds like Ticking when the computer is not busy, not so big but still can be noticable, is there anything wrong with this HDD? It is 7200RPM.

    Thanks for answer in advanced.

the tick tick sounds is that the hdd in power save mode, i get that a lot with the 7200 rpm drive for some reason. Go into power mode property under display property, and switch off any power saving for the hdd that shuts the hdd down.

I agree it's most likely power save mode.
In addition, it cannot harm to check SMART properties on the disk and run the self tests. Just to be sure...
