Just picked up a refurbished Thinkpad R51 for $344.25 off the IBM website under the Contractor Purchase Program (CPP). Price outside the CPP is $459.00.

    14.1" TFT
    Pentium M 1.5 GHz
    512 MB
    40 GB HD
    CD-RW/DVD Combo
    Gigabit Ethernet
    IBM 802.11 b/g (Atheros?)
    56k Modem
    Windows XP Pro
    3 Month Limited Warranty

Was getting tired of lugging my 17" Dell E1705 Inspiron around, and was looking for a good light internet cafe laptop on the cheap, and this seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Hopefully it comes with a single stick of 512 MB memory, instead of 2 sticks of 256 MB. I want to upgrade her to 1 GB at least.

I have that exact same laptop config sitting under my desk at work collecting dust (it got replaced with a MacBook Pro). Its a nice piece of hardware, clear out most of the IBM junk when you get it and definitely get that 1GB of RAM in there ASAP, it should be a nice PC for surfing and I like the form factor.

Bought an Intel Pentium M 745 1.8GHz off eBay today for $60 to replace the 1.5GHz. She can take up to a PM 755 2.0GHz, but the cheapest one I could find was about $160. Extra 200MHz isn't worth an extra $100. Won't buy any memory until I see what configuration this has, 2x256 or 1x512.
