I recently found a better deal for the Thinkpad I ordered from Lenovo. However, my order was shipped yesterday. If I refuse shipment, will Lenovo process the refund with a restocking fee? What has your experience been with refuse shipment/delivery for Lenovo? Thank you.

"A copy of the invoice, the return-authorization form, and the shipping label must accompany the return. Shipping and handling charges generally will not be refunded or credited.Lenovo products returned without a Lenovo return-authorization form or returned after the date specified by Lenovo , may be subject to a restocking fee equal to 15% of the price paid. You agree to pay the restocking fee as Lenovo specifies."

As a poor college student, I can't afford the additional costs of shipping it back to Lenovo. I was hoping I could simply refuse shipment, never take possession and have the "return" processed.

    I dont think so honestly.

Look at it this way ok. If you are not home to pick it up, and they attempt it 3 times they send it back right. its not your fault its the couriers.

So honestly i dont think so.

Also remember you havent payed them yet, meaning you havent payed your credit card off. Worst comes to worst you charge back the laptop and thats that.

I was in a similar situation and they didn't charge me. Here are my details, in Canada, used EPP, I had ordered a t43, then the day they shipped my order and charged my credit card, there was a better deal, I called Lenovo, the rep told me to refuse package for a full refund which I did. The refund to my CC took about 2 weeks after I refused the package.

Call them for an RMA before you get it, throw the stuff in a UPS or Fedex label pouch (you can get one at any authorized ship center for free), and when the driver comes just stick the pouch on the box and refuse the package.

It sounds like they probably won't charge you the restocking fee anyway, but this way you can be sure. As long as they'll give you the RMA without receiving the laptop, anyway.
