Hi, I have a T500 since April and I notice that the battery life on my laptop is not up to par. When running the Win7 RC, i can get about 7 hours if I try to conserve. However, after installing the official Win 7, i can only get about 5 and a half hours. I am using the same power plan and integrated graphics with brightness all the way down and all that good stuff.

I am consuming about 12-14watts when just taking notes and stuff and my battery is at 77.51Wh out of 84.24 WH and it has 107 cycles on it.

Also, i have a p8400 cpu, WXGA LED screen if that matters much.

5 and a half hours seems about right.

Did you actually get 7 hours from it before?

yes i did, tho it was mostly note taking in class and other low consumption task. But with the same task and sometimes even idling, it seems to be draining more power than before

Well, I can only assume something has changed then. I ain't had it that long and perhaps use different settings but 5-6 hours seems about right for me.

I would say 7 hours would be low. Before windows 7, I was getting around 10 hours a charge with intel gfx, brightness on low, wifi on, powersaver plan (however that may be because I sparsely use the battery and it has only been charged around 10 times). Now... with windows 7 I only get around 7-8 hours. Maybe it has to do with a driver issue or something?

Seriously my battery life must be shockingly low because 10 hours sounds way too high.

If left on idle with everything low the battery meter once showed 9:30 but that wasn't a proper value. Actually using the thing doesn't give me 10 hours or & I can say that.

I am only getting max of 6~ hours. It is consuming 12-14watt which sounds a little bit way too high for note taking and idling. I used to be able to get 7.5-8 hours easy with a 9 cell, but 10 hrs seems really nice to have. How are you getting that kind of number now?
