    3 Q's:

As we all know, its screen is "frameless" ... but does the LCD in the 15" Y510 have two layers (meaning is there another covering the screen within the narrow bezel)? I just wanted to find out if this is like the gameboys of old, wherein they have two screen layers (one that is on the outer cover with the gray border and "dot matrix with..." lettering and another that is on top of the display itself). Added screen protection would be a big plus (would lend to glare though)

And 2nd question. My uncle has the aforementioned model. But, he was comparing it to his fishing buddy's Y510, and we were wondering how come the area around his keypad was silver and aluminum/alloy like, whereas his friend's was black. Are there variants?

Finally, does the Y510s and the Y410s have alloy rollcage reinforced interiors? All I could see in the miscellaneous websites are --- sturdy case or durable frame. Wanted to hear from someone with a more intimately specific firsthand knowledge.

The glass covering the screen is larger than 15.4" diagonally and extends to within maybe 1.5mm - 2 mm (a guess as I don't have anything to measure with) of the overall top case dimension, where it meets up with a bezel. Put another way, it's all glass except for this very small bezel.

Mine is a dark, somewhat metallic grey color. I had hoped it would be black. *shrug* No idea if any of them are black, or if it's just how they appear in photos.

Maybe your uncle will let you take his apart. ;)
