I want the US International keyboard but I cannot buy it here, only if I buy it separately for additional cost which is nonsense. Also, in Europe Lenovo doesn't sell the basic (i3) models which are sufficient to me.

What are good US based sellers who ship internationally? And perhaps I can customize the machine a little bit as well?

So the straightforward option is to order from the US, right?

I don't mind paying the taxes. Did I mention the seller's shipping costs should be reliable as well?

What model are you looking for specifically? You could look at the Lenovo UK store which provides US International keyboards as an option with base models usually starting off with the Core i3 processors. Since the UK is part of the EU trading bloc you shouldn't need to pay additional customs charges for the item too in most Mainland European countries.

You could also buy the cheapest laptop locally and buy a US international keyboard on eBay. This might be cheaper (and you have a spare keyboard).

Lapstars - they have the option to let you choose the keyboard layout (and many others, like upg. the memory, drive, etc.)

Do you think Lenovo UK will ship to other EU countries? Come on! It!s not how it works.

Just like Lenovo's official German site lets you choose a US keyboard.

The bottom line is: haven't you made some basic math and calculated that it's even cheaper paying for shipping and taxes importing from the US than from another EU country? Still looking for the US option.

You should definately check out Lapstars! They let you switch parts, but also consider the removed parts' price. Unlike many other retailers.
So if you change they keyboard, they will not charge you for a separate keyboard, they will "give you credit" for the old keyboard and deduct that from the new price. You could even make your laptop cheaper (for example, by trading in a 9 cell battery for a 6 cell one).
