My T400 has taken some abuse with all of the crazy software and settings I've put it through, so I'm thinking about completely redoing it.

I made one recovery CD -- what else do I need to do? I know it's got that funny partition and that there's a BIOS setting for the hard drive that's got to be flipped temporarily, but I can't for the life of me remember why or now.

    Help!

if you want to reinstall the factory image and still have the R&R partition then it's just a case of hitting the blue thinkpad button on startup and following the product recovery instructions. It'll wipe the drive and start from scratch (installing the OS, drivers, and all the associated Lenovo bloatware).

Okay- what I'd like to do is burn off the recovery disks (is there a way to do this again?) and reload from a clean copy of XP Pro that I have.

What's the best way to do this with this computer, given that the hard drive requires special drivers/ BIOS turn on/turn off?

You can only burn the recovery discs once.
