Never able to restore to factory default. Administrator account locked out. BIOS available so I locked HD. Next day BIOS supervisor word set. Passphrase set. Security chip activated and BIOS locked down. I live alone and machine never left docking station. It is now in the hands of IBM Lenova dealer I purchased it from. Informed that HD removed and now needs 2 passwords. The HD pw I set they have. They can get past that and encounter a second HD pw prompt. Machine is being sent out. MB replacement worst case scenario. Best case possible recovery of sup pw. I have no idea what sort of magic they have. I don't see them recovering Sup pw and Sup passphrase. and unlocking HD. They can't see HD and then I can't prove the condition of the HD. Last time I saw it there were 3 partitions. All this access to system remotely? Is this un heard of? Best hope is a malfunction of security machine HW. No backup machine. So the local library is my backup for email and access to forums. 128 B encrypted dsl network access. Don't get it. Anyone ever heard of this hijack and reconfig including the lockup of BIOS?
Love to hear about?
