Is there a remote made for the T520, something basic that will allow me to scroll through PPT presentations, and has a red dot pointer built in? I didnt see anything on the Lenovo website.

Either of these multimedia remotes from Lenovo should work for you as well:

    Lenovo - Multifunction Keyboards

Don't pay more than $40, there are often coupons that bring the price of that N5902 backlit remote to $35.

A quick search on ebay shows it going for around $40: Lenovo N5902 | eBay

I ordered the 5901, but I am not fully confident that the remote will allow me to control PPT presentations with ease?

Sales rep said this is the ONLY choice that will control a PPT presentation as I want.

Most of the time projectors will allow me to do what I want with their remotes, but there is the odd time that the projector remote wont talk to the computer
