I'm planning on removing IBM Access Connections from my computer and simply using the built-in wireless application of Windows XP. Is this ok or a mistake?

Access Connections is usually beneficial for those managing multiple networks. I use Windows networking without any issues.

I removed Access Connections over a year ago and now use more than a dozen networks with Windows Networking & it works fine.

You'll be fine w/o Access Connections. Windows XP SP2 and on does a fairly good job of managing wireless connections.

Windows works fine for wifi, broadband and bluetooth, but for the WiMAX connection there's much more functionality in access connections or Intel's wimax app which vista currently lacks. I keep access connections installed for this reason, but otherwise I'd get rid of it too.
