    Hi all,

I've had my X200 for a couple of weeks now, but I still haven't removed the stickers. Does anybody have ideas on how to remove the Windows Vista sticker without scratching the palm rest? I think I'll leave the Intel one intact..

    Ideas would be appreciated :)

Here's what's always worked for me. Grab the corner with your fingernails, and peel it off s-l-o-w-l-y. Dab at the remaining glue with the sticker itself, and finish up by rubbing the palmrest with your finger.

You pick at it until it comes off. Easy. Just takes persistence. Your palm rest is quite resilient to your finger nails so just have at it. Any left over glue can easily be wiped off with some spit on your thumb and rubbing it off. Then spotless :).

I rub it with a damp (NOT WET) paper towel, until it loosens up the glue.

I remove everything but the CPU sticker ususally. I even go so far to remove all stickers on the bottom and move the COA to somewhere where it can't be seen, like under the hard drive or beneath a system door. But I'm just a sticker peeler by nature.

It's the same thing, I like my laptop stickerless. I used to be scared of removing the stickers until I realized it's a thick layer of glue between the sticker and the surface its on, so if you pull/peel/scratch/vaporize it off, you can then rub the glue residue off with the meat of your thumb (if you do it fast enough it'll get warm and come off easier). Finally, cleanup with water makes it spotless.

My stickers were placed on with industrial sealant and then seemingly welded on. After removing them with great persistence i used Goo Gone to get rid of excess glue and after applying some to a cloth wiped my keys, palmrest and everything else down. Made the whole thing look new.

I must be in the minority here, but I actually like the manufacture stickers. I don't like commercial laptop stickers where they are on any open surface, but I like the Intel and MS stickers on my T42 and T400.

when peeling of the sticker don't bend the sticker on the surface and the un-peeled part past 45 degrees.

I usually use a small Post-It (or piece of paper) and slip it between the sticker and the palm rest and wiggle it. The sticker should then detach from the palm rest and you can peel the rest of it off. This way, you don't damage the edge of the sticker so you can stick it elsewhere.

I picked it off then I took some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel and rubbed the area where it was still sticky until it wasn't anymore.
