My x220 was recently sent in for a screen replacement because of dead pixels that kept appearing. After getting the laptop back, not only did notice that the left corner of the lid was cracked, but also that the ac power port was loose. I want to send the laptop back for further repairs, but now I am worried that if they decide to replace the motherboard due to the loose power port, they'll also remove the mSATA card I've recently installed. Should I remove the mSATA card myself before sending the laptop in? Actually, should I remove all personally installed parts of the laptop in case they decide to replace the whole thing?

Unless you want to risk them disappearing, I would. No reason not to.

I would bring it back to the CTO state. No mSATA SSD, no UltraBay caddy adapter, no second HDD/SSD, no extra RAM sticks, nothing that you have installed yourself. And, above all, no personal files on any drive.
In view of situations like this, the stock HDD (small, slow, free of personal programs and files) does come in handy. -
