I've been getting the blue screen of death more and more often (i.e., from 0, to most times I take my lappy out of the dock... I do use the Fn-F9 and 'undock' method).

It doesn't crash when I select to undock, but crashes after it says "safe to remove", and I physically undock.

Any idea on where to start? I've got the latest Lenovo drivers (I think), and the only things connected to my dock are my printer, monitor, mouse, blackberry and iPod.

Does the behavior differ when you just press the undock button on the side?

    Nope...

And now when I plug it into an external projector it crashes (but it's okay on the base)...

ya... i don't have this issue... but i did notice one thing... First let me state what i have plugged in... USB speakers, usb cable to my samsung i900 omnia phone, USB Switch (not hub), duel monitors, network cable...

What i found is.. if something's using my usb speakers... it won't undock... so along those lines... could your ipod be synced with itunes thus not ejected properly? umm... do you have a print job stuck in your queue? blackberry in transfer mode? that's what comes to mind...

    Sorry if this didn't help....

    Hi,

I've got a brand new X200, and have a similar problem. Though just now I got a BSOD just resuming, with no undocking involved.. I guess it could be bad memory, but does anyone have another idea? Big-O, did you solve the problem?

    I came across this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959252

For me the problem is definitely related to a second monitor/projector. Like I plug the projector, and have a blue screen. Even rebooting gives a blue screen. The above fix only talks about disconnecting a second display, but it's worth a try.

    Anyone used this fix before?

    Hi,

Just an update in case anyone runs into that issue. The Microsoft fix above did the trick. My problem was with connecting/disconnect external display or projector. I installed the pack and now everything is fine. No more BSOD when docking/undocking or when pluging the projector in meetings at work. I look less like a mickey, me happy :)
