Reordered T61 2 days ago, got shipping notification today!?

I originally ordered a T61 on 05/11 and have had the same problems as everyone else. I was fed up with Lenovo and cancelled my order last week as a result. I thought about it more over the weekend and decided that I really did want the T61 and was willing to wait. I ended up reordering on Monday afternoon of this week (upgraded the configuration, so I don't feel bad about cancelling originally, there were some things I decided I wanted after my initial order). My new ESD was 06/28 and this afternoon I got an email stating that it had shipped and my status checker reflects the same.

I have no idea why mine got built so fast, but I'm certainly very happy it did. I'm not advocating that everyone go out and cancel theirs to reorder, but it was a nice surprise considering that I thought it would take until at least the middle of July in order to get my TP.

 

Is it the original one that you ordered and then cancelled, but they screwed up the cancellation, or is it the new config you ordered?

 

It's the new one. My initial thought was the same, that they didn't cancel it properly, but it's definitely the new one I just ordered 48 hours ago.

That's strange. Maybe they had an extra one of that same config you ordered.

 

I'm trying to get them to cancel one I ordered mid May but it's like pulling teeth...still not cancelled!!
I ordered a different one last week and it's 'in progress'!

I reordered as well (on 6/8) and still it has not shipped. I reordered as I wanted to change my config a bit and take advantage of some different deals.

 

Someone who had canceled may have had the same configuration as him and they just shipped that one..

 

It is certainly possible that mine was a configuration that was "pre-built" for one reason or another. For those who are curious, here it is (using SPP):

Hehehe, I have the exact same specs in every way except for 2 things:
Harddrive (I have the 80gb) and Memory (I have the stock 512mb)

Both of which have not seemed to be blamed for any delays. Funny how the lenovo roulette plays out.

My bad, I also have the turbo memory, but forgot to include it on the spec post. I do not have the upgraded card however.

 

Well my machine shipped today!

This is my EXACT same order (since Lenovo went ahead and dropped the camera I initially ordered.. and i'm too pissed at this point to care enogh), except I'm paying about 200.00 more. Damn for not using the EPP.

 

Oh so the camera is delaying things? Bummer, I bought mine with one.

 

I didn't use EPP, only SPP which is not nearly as good, but a little more legit.

 

I bought mine with a camera and it shipped yesterday 6/13. I ordered on 6/7. Also has NVIDIA.

Yes.. I had the 2.2GHz too with 1GB Turbo Intel Memory AND 100GB 7200rpm drive.

 

So it looks like they're shipping the 14.1" screens now. I don't think I've seen any 15.4" screens shipped yet on this forum.

 

How many people ordered the 15.4 though? I'm going to be placing my order tonight for one, I'll keep you guys updated.

 

I ordered one on the 7th of June. Today it's still 'in progress' with an ESD of 7/3 <sigh>
