Heres An Item Description Of The Fault Of My Laptop (ibm Thinkpad) I Brought Off Ebay (really Cheap) - Does Anyone Know Of Any Ideas How To Fix It :d ?

This laptop was in full working order however when i removed the back to see if i could upgrade the cpu on restarting the monitor lit up but showed no display

when plugged into an external monitor every thing was fine, i then decided to re open to see what was wrong and now the laptop doesnt power up ,

i may have dislodged a wire i really do not think that there is anything majorly wrong as it was working fine it just needs someone who knows what they are doing to sort it out

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Andy.

Sounds like the backlight came unplugged and the power supply the same, or shorted out. As for opening it, see if you can find a manual online, the screw pattern should be in there.

and don't forget obvious things such as making sure the battery has power or is plugged in when addressing that "it won't power up" issue.
