I have a z60m Thinkpad with a 40 GB drive, and I would like to replace the CD-Rom drive in the ultrabay with a 100 GB drive. Is this possible? What is involved in the swap? I have the device removal and installation from Lenovo's support and downloads website, so I assume that I can just remove the CD-ROm drive from the ultrabay.

But is there anything I need to do after installing the new drive, or will the operating system recognize the new hard drive automatically? I am running Windows XP. Alternatively, I could add an external drive. Any recommendations for a good product?

    Thanks,
    Bob Dickey

You need the ultrabay hard drive adapter. The part number is 40Y8725.
