    Replace Thinkpad 13 keyboard with T460's backlit keyboard?

    I read that the FRU were the same as the non backlit T460s keyboard so it might be possible to just swap them out for some illumination. Has anyone tried this?

    Even if the T460s keyboard fit, there is probably not a plug for the a power ribbon on the backlit keyboard (it's not offered as an option on the 13 ... right?). I guess you could hack power from a USB port if you're handy.

    I'd like to bump this thread. Have already purchased a T460S keyboard from ebay and installed in on TP13.. Every function works, EXCEPT the light. I must guess that the BIOS is not mapped for the additional light Fn function.

    Thanks for the confirmation. Not sure why this feature wasn't on the drawing board, probably a petty attempt at market segmentation. Shame.
