    Replace t61 keyboard with t60?

    I just got my 14.1" T61 and it has a Chicony keyboard. I'm thinking of buying a T60 keyboard (FRU #39T0958). Will the switch work?

    I don't believe you can request a certain keyboard manufacturer if that's what you're asking.

    No, I already have the Chicony. I want to buy the NMB from a third party. I tried calling Lenovo for an exchange of keyboard but got nowhere.

    Really would like to know, I'm sure others would buy a NMB keyboard if they knew it would work in their T61.

    You can buy an NMB keyboard for the t61 but the best prices I saw were all over 100 bucks or so.

    it will definitely NOT fit. the placement of the thinkvantage button is way off as well as the eraser head mouse keys.

    Thank you for the answer. I already tried to get it exchanged by Lenovo but they were less than helpfull. :-| The Chicony is still a great keyboard but from the sound of things NMB is better. At least I got the LG screen :D

    Actually it depends on the machine. The Standard size T61's will fit the T60. The Widescreen is completely off.

    btw, are you aware that at least some NMB keyboards sold by Lenovo are rebadged Chiconys?

    By the talk on the forum, you know what I meant.

    And yes I am aware of that, but I am not inclined to think they are of equal quality but rather that Lenovo is being less than honest.
