I have the T61 described in my signature, and I need to find a suitable replacement hard drive. I am going to buy an external enclosure, and create a bootable backup with Casper XP, so I can swap it out if it crashes.

I want 100 gigs, 7200 rpm. I know it needs to be SATA... Is that the same as serial ATA150? I found this one:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822146226

    Will that work?

    Any other ideas/suggestions?

Try to find the next generation of Seagate 7200 RPM drives. 7200.1 is the first generation, and 7200.2 is the second. Newegg does not carry the second generation, but ZZF does.

Yes, Serial ATA 150 is SATA.

    HITACHI Travelstar 7K200 HTS722010K9SA00 (0A50937) 100GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM

i've heard Lenovo laptops are notorious with non-OEM parts not being compatible.... anyone have any experience with this / can confirm this hitachi will work on the t60?

    thanks,
    Sean

I have the exact hard disk on my T61p, so I guess it'll work on your T60.
