    Hello,

I want to buy a replacement battery for my laptop. The specific battery model is 42T4506. Searching amazon gave me this :

    Amazon.com: IBM X60 battery: Electronics

The list has a large number of vendors, all with similar prices. Since it is about a 3rd of the official battery price, I will probably go with a non-original. Are there any recommended vendors for such batteries, or is it all the same?

well there is no recommended vendor as such, but rather you should see how many transaction they have and what sort of guarantee or warranty they offer.

A vendor may have a good battery one day and a crappy set the next, since there is no guarantee that they always source from a single battery cell manufacturer whom produce the exact same batch of cells every time. It is more of a gamble then anything else.
