    I have a x60 1706-8du. Is it possible to use any brand of hard drive to upgrade or I have to use Hitachi? Thanks

    you can use any brand like seagate, hitachi, samsung ect.
    you must use the same type
    for example, if u have sata use sata. If you don't dont.

    It's a SATA and yes any will work as long as it's SATA.

    thanks all for the info! now, what do you use to clone the drive? i have ghost 11 and it won't reconize the usb chip. i just want it verbatim cloned but with all drive space used.

    Since I have a Seagate drive, I can get a free download of DiscWizard from Seagate's website. DiscWizard is pretty much Arcronis True Image.
