I have myself a W500 with the WUXGA display, and everything seems a little small for me. I was curious if it was possible to replace the display with a WSXGA screen from ebay?

I have found these http://cgi.ebay.com/LENOVO-THINKPAD-W500-LCD-SCREEN-15-4-WSXGA-GLOSSY_W0QQitemZ120398261987QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120398261987&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50 and I'm not sure if its a simply plug and play operation.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

You can do it, but it will void the warranty. Are you running Vista? If you are you can bump the DPI up, which works pretty well.

I am running Vista, I will give that a shot later on this evening. I've tried changing the resolution, but it makes the monitor blurry, is that what you're talking about?

No, go to the Control Panel and search for "DPI". Click adjust font size, and choose a higher DPI value. That will make all text larger, so it's easier to see.

don't change the software resolution - software resolution needs to be identical to hardware resolution, which is 1920X1200. Change other software settings, starting with PPI ("DPI"). The PPI of these screens is 147. You could try 120. Once you have configured this screen right, you will never want to go back to lower PPI. Just takes a bit of experimenting...
