Dear all,
I have to replace keyboard from my previous R400 with the new one. Some colleagues said that it is better to replace it with the one of T60. It is better build and not as spongy as R400 (yes, R400 keyboard is spongy).
Is those keyboard identical? I found a good bargain of new T60 keyboard at the local store. Just want to make sure they are compatible to each other.
Thanks

I believe you can, for a short time I did swap my T61 NMB keyboard on to a R400 and it worked fine and vice versa. I heard T60 keyboards fits on the 14.1" T61 WS models fine so logically it should fit on the R400. R61 keyboards will also work as they share the same parts with the T61.

Thank you for the confirmation

All T60/T61/Tx00, R60/R61/Rx00, W500, and X200/X201 keyboards are interchangeable and fully compatible.

X20x keyboards do not work in work in the T and R series laptop.
Some R500, R400, T400, T500, W500 laptops were delivered with perforated keyboard, which is what contributes to the spongy feeling. T60/T61 keyboards had a solid backplate.
