I'm getting my refurbished Y50 tomorrow and would like to immediately replace the spinner with a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro that I already have.

I intend to reuse it's HDD in an older laptop, so the recovery partition will be gone.

    1. Would you move the recovery partition to the SSD, or make a bootable recovery USB?

    2. If I put only an OS partition on the SSD would you set it up nicely on the HDD before cloning it over, or do a recovery from the moved partition/USB?

    Thanks!
