After two keyboard replacements, I am still having trouble with certain keys not producing characters such as "K", "I", "8" and a few more. When IO strike these keys, nothing happens. Have tried putting in a spare keyboard also to see if that helps but the same thing. Now support has agreed to replace the system board on my machine. Getting a little nervous but hope this does the trick. Could there be any other reasons for these keyboard problems? Thanks for your input. Typing now on another machine so no problems.

I don't think so. Notice that "K","I" and "8" are all on the same vertical row, that is not without meaning.

Are you sending in your machine for this?

I think he is BinkNR and i'd encourage him to do so.

It will be onsite service.

Onsite tech replaced the system board today in my T400 and all seems to be well with the keyboard issues I have had, hopefully.
However, right after he left, I notice my 9 cell battery did not seem to lock in place properly. It stays in but the lock does not seem to hold well. I can easily pull the battery out pulling straight from the back of the laptop without having to unlock it. Is this normal? Have asked him to come back to see if it is the battery or the system board that is the problem. Thanks for your input on this.
