    Replacing backlit keyboard on L440 model

    L440 doesnt have backlit keyboard,is it possible to do it?

    Unfortunately, that isn't possible. Even if you use a keyboard with backlight from a T440/T440s/T440p, the backlight won't work, because the system board of the L440 doesn't support it.

    Might it be possible to solder a wire with a switch to the connector and grab to power needed for illumination elsewhere?

    Well, if you're considering the L450, which you should be with its FHD IPS LCD and trackpoint buttons, the T450s is only $6 more right now with the 35% off coupon and it offers the backlit keyboard standard, at least here in the US.

    Thanks. The thing is I already own a L440 and am *very* happy with it. What I like compared to the L450 that I could install a BluRay drive.

    So I am lloking for a way to get the backlit keyboard working in it, maybe a hardware hack could help.
    Did anyone already try it?
