It appears I tried to jam a USB cable the wrong way into the always on USB port on my X220, and now the pins are visible and the yellow connecting piece is broken and wiggling. How difficult will it be to fix or replace this part? I'm going to have to go in and replace the fan/heatsink at some point anyway, but I'm just curious as to the difficult (assuming it's not an easy fix since I didn't see anything about it in the service manual.)

I believe the X220 USB ports are integrated into the motherboard. Unless you've got some soldering skills, you'll probably need a new board or live with it.

I know this might have been too late but it may help with others. I have recently encountered the same situation. I opened up the system board to take a look. The powered USB port on x220 is kind of hard to replace. It's soldered on the backside of the SD card reader. You'd need to remove the SD reader first. I decided to live with it.
