I have an ALPS and I'm very happy with it. I really don't feel any flex at all.

NMB is traditionally the best, ALPS the worst.

well, depends on whose opinions you read. I have seen more people say Alps is worst. Regardless, if you are getting a new one, might as well go for NMB.

Mine T60 comes with the ALPS keyboard, which I think is great. I tried another T60 with the Chicony keyboard, it feels quite different and very noisy too.

true. try your best to get an NMB. i had a alps, and i tried to get a NMB, but the customer support dood was "slow" to say the least...and sent me another alps keyboard (even though i gave the fru number for NMB)

not gonna try again though...alps aint bad...and now that i have 2 pairs, doens't matter if i pound really hard and break one of them =)

What is the FRU for the Z61t NMB keyboard?

Is this keyboard the same exact part for the T60 series?

I had (briefly) two T60's: one 14" and one 15" IPS. One had the Alps keyboard, one the Chicony. The Alps was noticeably smoother and quieter - particularly the space bar, which was a bit clacky with the Chicony keyboard. The Alps (which was on the 15"IPS) was closer in feel to my old T20. So I'm a bit surprised that the Alps is generally considered the worst of the three.

I'm a big fan of the Alps, which feels significantly better to me.
