I have a T61 and have been having troubles with it so I tried to do a rescue and recovery. After going through the process 4 times it finally worked but i started out with Vista Business 32bit but when it did the recovery it gave me XP.

Everything works on XP but what happened to my Vista that I reluctantly paid for? If I want to upgrade to Vista in the future how do I get it back?

Heh. Some would consider that a blessing? I’d think you’d have to call Lenovo for new recovery disks if you want Vista back—or install it manually.

you must have used Windows XP Recovery disks...

im not sure, but try calling for Vista recovery disks (if you didn't burn recovery disks)

i don't know what happened to the recovery partition

You normally pay extra for those. I will prob get the XP discs if I decide to order a t400.

was it a clean install, or a downgrade?

if clean, what driver did you use?
