I had used Uninstaller 2006 to uninstall a few applications and clean my registry and the next thing I know is that my windows is totally messed up. Luckly, I had made a backup a week or so earlier and I restored my windows from it.... It just saved my day... GOD BLESS RESCUE & RECOVERY :).

IBM Pre-Desktop is totally awesome. Is it OS2?

That'll teach you to stay away from "Uninstallers", "Cleaners", "Optimizers" and the like. :) Pure cr ap each and every one of them. :) Yes, that's a radicalized opinion. :) Glad it worked. :) Makes me recall the time when Windows System Restore helped me once, compared to the 10,000 times it didn't (now I just keep it disabled). :)

Me too... its a space consumer and I too have it disabled. Anyway, you are the first person I know of for whom it actually worked :D ...

I backed my system a couple of months ago. Bad news, I downloaded a new version of the rescue and recovery software. I have to go through the 3 hour process all over again. My old discs are not compatable with the new version.

I still think that Ghost and Acronis are not only easier to use but save you a lot more time when you back up your HDD. Making the image of a partition takes you 15 minutes, idem for restoring one. But I'm sure glad RnR worked for you.

the old discs don't work with the updated RnR? that sucks, it told me to burn new ones but I ignored it assuming it just wanted to save the update, and since it can't sort out access connections properly still, I didn't burn them. Is it possible to get the file it wants to burn to DVD and put it on another computer, so I can burn one DVD instead of 5 more CDs?
