I got my new T61p and decided to get rid of some bloatware. Since I don't have a disc of WinXP, I thought I would go the Rescue Recovery route to get rid of some programs. My understanding is that if I press the blue button I could do a custom factory reinstall. I read this in the Help button too. Anyway, when I do that, it doesn't give me an option for a custom factory recovery. I do get a couple of options to "save certain files or save no files" and do an original factory recovery. When I pick don't save any files (do a reinstall from original factory install), it goes straight to reformatting the disc. When I pick custom pick files to save from the current HDD, it gives me everything on the hard drive instead of the files I have created since I got the computer and it wants to save it to an external media and doesn't offer saving to the HDD like its suppose to. Plus the external option doesn't appear to be working right. Its like the window is frozen there or something. It doesn't follow what the Help menu says its suppose to do. What am I doing wrong?
Should I just go into control panel and remove the bloatware that way? But how do I get to the hidden files like msn.com etc.?

Was hoping to see anyone had a suggestion? or if you had experience with this method of removing bloatware, please let me know.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Other people have been reporting that they are able to do custom factory reinstall. Plus one used the Lenovo SoftBase Administor and wrote a manuscript to allow custom reinstall, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. :(
