I just completed a full system recovery from DVDs that I had burned when I first got my T61. This is the first time that I've done this, and I immediately noticed on my newly imaged machine that the Rescue and Recovery Application is not installed.

Does this seem normal? The machine came with R&R installed and I understood that the DVD's returned the system to a factory state. I'm just surprised it isn't there, so I want to check before I download the installer and manually put it back on the machine.

Frankly, I restored several times (both XP & Vista), but I haven't noticed a missing of R&R. By the way, you could install via System Update. At least, it's a newer version.
