Hey all, thanks for this forum, looks like a lot of good information here. I have been using Thinkpads for a LONG time, but recently ran into a problem on my wife's Z60t that's got me stumped.

I'm trying to upgrade her hard drive, and want to preserve her old drive for a period of time while we migrate, so don't want to do anything to mess it up.

I used the ThinkVantage 'Create Recovery CDs' utility to create 7 CDs... one startup and 6 discs. Once I created these CDs (without error, I might add), I swapped in her new larger hard drive and went to boot from the startup CD.

    Well, it wouldn't.

I checked the BIOS settings and made sure the CD was at the top of the list, but all it will do is attempt a PXE boot then say 'Operating System Not Found'. It will access the CD and act like it is reading but just won't boot.

I looked at the contents of the CD using another computer, and it appears that there is nothing on the startup CD, whereas the other CDs contain various files and folders.

I attempted to re-burn the startup CD but the utility won't let me do this as it says I have already used up my license for creating recovery CDs.

Any ideas why the startup CD is non-functional and appears to be blank?

Usually when I want to boot from a CD, when I turn my machine on, I hit the enter button which allows me to choose a start up device, which allows me to choose the CD drive.
