    Hi,

i plan to never use R&R and thinking about uninstalling from my system. If i do so, will i be able (in the future) to restore my system to the original factory condition from the hidden partition or this needs to R&R be present at all times ?

You can uninstall any ThinkVantage program including that. As long as you do not delete your hidden partition, you can reinstall that R&R and recover your system.

I think that with the RR DVD/CD disks, it can replace both the hidden partition and the original factory system.

But if i have removed R&R and my system crash (i.e. not booting) i will not have the chance to reinstall it...
I am now more confused than before: Is this program (R&R) vital to be installed in my system so in a case of failure i will use that blue button on boot and restore from the hidden partition or not ??
I have made my rescue disks and kept that partition intact, do i need to have R&R installed or i can safely uninstall and forget about it ?

    >> You still can access R&R in hidden partition and restore the system (factory state) from there.

    >> Installing R&R on Windows is for easy to backup (or by schedule.) So in case you are not going to use R&R on Windows; it's likely that you are not going to backup frequently or not at all. Then when you use R&R in hidden partition, you will have to restore to original factory state only, no other choice.

    >> As I said above, you can uninstall and forget about it if you don't want to backup your system & data :)

Ok, thanks! I personally take backup of my projects, i do not need anything else. So i will uninstall it and that's it.

One last bit of clarification: The backup procedure of R&R, is going to be placed in the hidden partition so when you need it (hidden partition) it will contain the last "image" of the system (and not the factory one) ??

    Thank you all again! :)

You have to have a backup drive (External drive, Network drive, or just another partition/drive) for that task. It doesn't overwrite an image file in hidden partition.

Just so you know, if you use an external drive as a backup, you can boot from that and don't have to access a hidden partition at all ;)
